Birds, Views, Supper, Booze,... Come Cruise the Rutland Riviera with us!
Thursday, 21st June 2012
This is the third year in which we have devoted an evening to cruising Rutland Water aboard the ʺRutland Belleʺ in search of Ospreys. Tim Appleton MBE, Rutland Water Reserve Manager and Tim Mackrill who is part of the Osprey team will help us to spot the birds.
As the ʺBelleʺ is chartered exclusively to us for this event the galleys are taken over by Aaron Patterson and his crew, who cook up a delicious summery supper which is washed down with suitable wines. If conditions allow we can all sit out on the sun-deck but it can be quite cool when the Belle surges forward at a blistering 4 knots, so dress accordingly and bring your binoculars.
Tickets £80.00 include a £10 donation to Rutland Water Nature Reserve, cruise, supper which will be several different plates of Aaron’s delicious creations and wines.
We leave the pier at Whitwell at 7.00pm sharp and the ship opens the gang plank at 6.30pm.
We return you to your car at 9.30 for 10.00pm.
We can provide binoculars but if you have your own bring them along and perhaps a hat.
