Hotel Receptionist / Front of House
We are looking for a friendly, professional person to join our Front of House / Reception team at Hambleton Hall.
You are the first person our guests meet; you will be the face of Hambleton Hall – a key member of the Reception team who work closely together to provide our guests with an amazing occasion to remember.
Our reception team are on hand from 7.00am to 11.00pm and work closely together to meet and exceed our guests expectations, from answering calls and emails to checking people in and out and managing all the administration that goes on in between!
The role:
- Work closely with the team to provide a consistently high quality of service to all guests and visitors.
- Manage guest arrivals and departures with warmth and efficiency, demonstrating the superb customer service that Hambleton Hall is renowned for.
- Handling multiple enquiries about our hotel, our restaurant and local area with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Provide accurate billing, processing payments and handling all administration efficiently and in a timely manner.
This is a fast paced and busy department. We are looking for someone who has warmth, charm and a natural gift for hospitality. The following skill set would be an advantage, but we will provide you with full training and you will have the support of your very experienced colleagues.
Ideally, you will have:
- Great customer service skills, the ability to deal with difficult situations with patience, understanding and professionalism.
- Good verbal and written skills, managing emails, phone calls and face to face meetings with guests, often simultaneously.
- Numerate with good organisational skills, able to manage the billing and balancing of guests accounts while maintaining the needs of the front desk.
- Resilient with good attention to detail and the ability to multitask and juggle many changing priorities.
- Previous Hotel experience could be an advantage; however, we do offer full training and we believe that the right person, in the right place can become a positive member of our team.

Chef de Partie
Here at Hambleton Hall, we are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our Michelin starred kitchen team.
Would you like to advance your career working alongside some of the best chefs in the UK?
You will be a team player able to deal with the pressure of running a busy operation and striving for quality and perfection in every single dish.
We are looking for someone who can
- Assist the Head Chef during service for timing and progress of all dishes.
- Take ownership and ensure that the presentation, taste, texture and quality are maintained to the standards set by our Executive Chef Director, Aaron Patterson and his head chefs who have worked for him for over 15 years each.
- Demonstrating passion and pride for all dishes served from your section.
- Be aware of Health & Safety and Food safety standards, ensuring due diligence checks are carried out as required.
- Understand that cleaning and hygiene is a must and ensure that your section and the overall kitchen is always spotless and well maintained
- Be a strong team player, you will be willing to learn and develop as well as assisting others in their own learning process, sharing your knowledge, passion and pride.
We are looking for a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a 2 rosette, preferably 3 rosettes, establishment.

- Understand that cleaning and hygiene is a must and ensure that your section and the overall kitchen is always spotless and well maintained
- Be a strong team player, you will be willing to learn and develop as well as assisting others in their own learning process, sharing your knowledge, passion and pride.

Hambleton Hall is situated on the shores of Rutland Water, approximately 3 miles from Oakham. We are in a beautiful rural location, so transport is essential, or we may have onsite staff accommodation available at a very reasonable charge.
