Bikes
There are bikes available for hire and they are ideal for the roads and tracks around the lake. The circuit of Rutland Water measures some 25 miles, most of which is on tracks.
We have 2 electric bikes and 3 mountain bikes for hire (bike helmets are also available) and please do let us know if you would like a map or suggestions on where to stop on route. If you would like to hire a bike during your stay, please contact our reception team to check availability and book.
Bike Hire – Per Bike:
Electric Bikes – half day – £40
8.30am to 1.00pm or 1.30pm to 6.00pm
Electric Bikes – full day – £50
Mountain Bikes – full or half day – £20
Aqua park
Rutland Water is also home to Aqua Glide, the UK’s biggest aqua park. Open from May till September, and measuring 50m by 50m this floating inflatable park has climbing walls, trampolines, balance bars, rockers and rollers. Visit http://www.aquaparkrutland.co.uk/ for more information.
Triathlon
Rutland Water is an excellent location for triathlon training and events. Inspire2tri offers weekly open water swimming training from April to September for triathletes and recreational swimmers. Every season there are numerous competitions culminating in the British middle distance Triathlon Championships which takes place each September.
Croquet
A few metres from the sun-drenched terrace is Hambleton’s croquet lawn. As easy sport to master, with many complex rules and skills to practise. Be certain to ask Tim or Chris for a copy of the rules.
