Residents will enjoy additional “personal space” in the dining room and public rooms.
From time to time our staff and other guests may pass close by in corridors or for food delivery/removal but these fleeting contacts will never be sustained.
In the Dining Room, the Bar, the Drawing Room and on the Terrace, parties will be separated by 2 meters.
Non-resident lunch guests will be asked to enter the hotel from the south terrace and will not have access to the Drawing Room and Bar. Their bills will be paid in the Restaurant.
Numbers will be restricted to approximately 25 people in the dining room. Where demand exceeds this number we shall offer two sittings starting from 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
Handshakes, hugs and kisses are on hold!
Should you wish we will transfer your luggage to your room with sanitised hands but we cannot park your car.
Ewa Bialonos, our Head Housekeeper, (Winner of the AA Housekeeper of the Year award in 2018-19) and her team will sanitise, purify, deep clean and polish your bedroom and public areas paying extra attention to high touch areas.
Hand sanitisers will be widely available for your use and will be in constant use by staff. Please wash your hands frequently.
All staff will be subject to daily temperature checks.
Our restaurant staff will deliver food and drink to your table as normal but contact will be reduced by leaving bread and wine on the table for you to serve yourself unless traditional service is requested by you.
Non-essential items will be removed from bedrooms and public areas such as books, guides magazines.
Menus will be personal to you. Please be aware the Gourmet Tasting Menu is not currently available.
Those of you who are happy to use mobile phones or tablets will receive the wine list by email. Those who are not should discuss wines with our Sommelier.
Personal Protective Equipment
In line with September 2020 Government regulations all front of house staff will wear a protective face mask. Guests are asked to wear face masks in the hall, loos and corridors. In other public areas where drinks, tea, coffee and food is served they are not mandatory.
Track & Trace
From 5th April 2021 Hambleton Hall is legally required to ask all hotel and restaurant guests to provide their contact details by checking in to the NHS Covid App. Hambleton’s QR code will be given to you when we greet you on arrival at the front door. Our team will have to verify all guests over the age of 16 and no longer just the contact who made the reservation. For those with no App we shall take your contact details manually. However, should you need to know more about any Covid related policies or procedures relating to your visit then please do not hesitate to call reservations.
Timing your arrival
Guests staying the night, to avoid congestion please do not arrive before 1.00 pm unless you have a restaurant reservation for lunch. Between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm guests arriving early will be accommodated on the terrace or in the Drawing Room, Bar or Hall. We will try, but can not promise, your room will be ready before 3.00 pm due to sanitising procedures.
For some years we have been rated 5* for food hygiene by our local authority. Additional measures of distancing and hygiene have been introduced in the kitchen to further improve our performance.
We expect our menu and general food standards to be as good or better than ever. We have not planned any dumbing down in gastronomic terms!
