Stamford
Stamford is an exceptionally beautiful stone town, mostly dating from 1820 or earlier, with many fine churches, almshouses, shops, inns and private houses dating from times when Stamford was a crucial stopover on the Great North Road. Our guests enjoy the shopping and perhaps a stroll around Burghley Park.

Oakham
Oakham is the closest town to Hambleton and provides some nice shops for men’s and ladies’ wear in a generally agreeable and unhurried environment.
Uppingham
Uppingham has especially interesting art galleries and antique dealers. The villages in between are mostly unspoiled and offer charming pubs and churches.
